Live classes are offered in-person in Northern VA (Fairfax, Prince William, Stafford and surrounding counties) and online via Skype, FaceTime, or Facebook Video Chat. I do encourage users to have a Facebook account, as Facebook is a great place to share information and post questions, videos, and assignments.
Classes are scheduled around your needs. I can do daytimes, evenings, weekends, whatever works best for you. Contact me to set up a time to meet and greet in person or online. I’ll be happy to answer all your questions, and we can work out lesson plans from there. Meet and greet is free!
Basic Cued Speech – $50
Basic CS covers all the handshapes, placements, and phonemes in the American English Cued Speech system. You will learn how to read a cue chart, and how to break down words into their individual cues. You will learn to cue words relevent to your specific situation from Day 1, why cue “smurf” when what you really want to say is your child’s name? Strong emphasis on accurate cueing, proper mechanics, and linguistics. Plenty of opportunities for practice. By the end of the course, you will be able to cue accurately at word level.
You will receive a copy of the Workbook via e-mail. Assignments and word lists will also be delivered electronically. Assignments will require you to take and share videos of yourself cueing. These videos will be used for assessment purposes only and will not be shared without express permission.
This course is designed to follow your individual pace of learning. The average course can be completed in 4 hours.
